Description

The purposed dam is located along Tigris river, 16 km north of Al-Fatha bridge and 30 km north-east of Baiji town, in Salah Al-Dean Governorate. Makhool dam project purposes were: Flood Control, Flow Regulation, Hydropower generation

Needs

The dam will need to have an Installed capacity of 260 MW and will generate 1940 GWh/year

Objective

Dam could contribute to provide flood control, flow regulation and additionally to cover up to hydropower energy demand.
