Description
Kolos Dam on Al Chafaff River which is a branch of Serwan River in Suliamaniyah. This area is subject to underlying formation noted for seepage problems. Construction of Kolos Earth fill Dam for purposes of irrigation of 8038 hac. Max level storage 710.4 m. Minimum 679.2. Top of dam is 712 m. Height 72 m, length 470 m. Capacity 78 million cubic meters. It only rains 6 months a year, so you have to store the water for the 6 months it’s dry. No Hydrological or geological investigations have been made at this dam at this time.
