Objective
Habbaniya Scheme is an off stream storage scheme, it was constructed for the Flood control of Euphrates river and offer safety for the downstream areas and Euphrates River Basin, this is done by diverting part of Euphrates River via Al Warrar Regulator and inlet Escape channel to Habbaniya Lake which originally was a natural depression created by storing water during flood time.
