Description
Construction of Basarra Dam for purposes of water storage.. Dam is 53 m height, 350 m length. 2600 hac. This dam is also a ground water recharge upstream of the dam as well as irrigation downstream of the dam. Basarra dam regulates water in one of the branches (small river) of Udhaim Dam. This dam is located on the Tawouk Chai River. It is Southwest of Sulaymaniyah City.
Needs
The dam will need to have an Installed capacity of 4.6 MW.
Objective
Dam could contribute to provide storage for irrigation and additionally to cover up to hydropower energy demand.
