Description
Construction of Mandawa reregulation dam for purposes: Irrigation, power installation, floor control. This dam will provide to the Northern irrigation systems. The dam is located on the upper zab river 44 km downstream of Bakhma dam. This also includes construction a hydropower plant. Dam= Earth & rock fill dam, height = 88 m.
Needs
Mindawa Dam would provide several benefits including significant installed hydropower capacity, flood control through regulation of the Greater Zab River, and water supply for irrigation and municipal and industrial uses
Objective
Dam could contribute to provide storage for irrigation and additionally to cover up to hydropower energy demand.
